Save Money in Paris

Once you arrive in Paris, you can save money by using the buses rather than the Parisian Metro. It is cheaper, plus you’ll get to see more of this beautiful city if you’re above ground. It might take a little longer than the metro, but it’s worth it in the long run. You can also get tickets for hop on, hop off services, which are excellent value for money for tourists.

You don’t have to pay through the nose to sightsee once you’re there either. Paris has many museums and attractions which are completely free – all you need to do before you go is a bit of research. The Notre Dame Cathedral, one of Paris’ most famous monuments, is free to enter, as is the Sacre Coeur. It’s also a great idea to just stroll along the banks of the Seine and soak up the Parisian atmosphere. If you do want to attend attraction which has an entry fee, try purchasing a discount card.

If the weather’s good, you can also save money by taking picnics as opposed to going to expensive French restaurants. Pop into a local supermarket when you arrive and stock up for your trip. Street food in Paris is also a great way to sample local delights without breaking the bank.
